Cognizant's landmark partnership with Anthropic will deploy the Claude family of models to 350,000 employees, accelerating the move toward an "agentified enterprise."
In one of the most significant enterprise AI adoptions to date, IT services and consulting giant Cognizant has announced a major partnership with Anthropic. The deal, valued in the tens of millions of dollars, will see Cognizant deploy Anthropic’s Claude family of large language models (LLMs) to its entire global workforce of approximately 350,000 employees. This landmark agreement signals a massive acceleration in the enterprise world, moving from small-scale AI experiments to full-scale, deeply integrated AI workflows.
This partnership aims to do more than just improve employee productivity; it’s about fundamentally re-architecting how business is done. By embedding Anthropic’s powerful and safety-focused AI into every facet of its operations, Cognizant is creating a blueprint for what it calls the “agentified enterprise”. The deal immediately makes Cognizant one of Anthropic’s top three largest clients by user seats and serves as a powerful endorsement of Claude as the trusted AI for large, regulated industries.
“Enterprises are moving beyond simple productivity gains toward a more connected, agentic future,” said Ravi Kumar S, CEO of Cognizant. “By pairing Anthropic’s Claude models and agentic tooling with Cognizant’s suite of platforms and industry expertise, we will help clients build the foundations of an agentified enterprise where intelligent systems collaborate with people to accelerate modernization, engineering and industry transformation”.
The core of this partnership is the concept of the “agentified enterprise”—a business where intelligent AI agents work alongside human employees to automate complex tasks, generate insights, and accelerate workflows. This is a move away from using AI as a simple chatbot and towards using it as a digital workforce.
To achieve this, Cognizant will leverage Anthropic’s entire suite of tools, including:
These tools will be integrated into Cognizant’s own Neuro® AI Multi-Agent Orchestration platform. This platform acts as a “manager” for the AI agents, ensuring they work together effectively and that all their actions are governed by explicit company policies and human-in-the-loop controls for safety and reliability.
“Companies require trusted AI that combines cutting-edge performance with safety and reliability, which is why hundreds of thousands of businesses trust Claude,” said Paul Smith, Chief Commercial Officer at Anthropic. “We’re demonstrating this at scale by rolling out Claude to up to 350,000 Cognizant employees and helping our joint clients do the same”.
The collaboration will initially target several high-value areas where AI can have an immediate and measurable impact:
This move is a huge win for Anthropic, validating its strategy of focusing on safety and reliability for the enterprise market. For Cognizant, it represents a massive internal transformation and a powerful new offering for its clients. By training its entire workforce on a single, powerful AI platform, Cognizant is creating a real-world case study on how to move from small-scale AI experiments to enterprise-wide business value.
